At 11:00:12 today, PSEi is up 1.33% with a volume of 762 million shares and a value of P1.58 billion. Advances at 62, declines at 52, and unchanged at 31. All indices are up except for the Service Index (SVC), which dropped 4.4 points or 0.30%. Highest surge came from the Financials Index (FIN) with 17.49 points, or 2.09% up.

PSEi stayed up as the market closed today, and as SVC went unchanged and the All-Stock Index (ALL) down by 44.39 points, or 1.47%.

Most Active Stock

The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (TEL) is the most active stock today garnering a value turnover of P187.32 million, followed closely by San Miguel Corporation (SMC) with P183.59 million. TEL opened at P2,298, lower than the previous day's closing price of P2,300. Sell of dominates the day, with a nine-to-one ratio, at the buyer's price of P2,296. Less buyers (2,290 shares) line up than sellers (5,340 shares).

TEL closed at the previous day's closing price of P2,300 as a rally of buyers came in later in the day. The turnover value reached P315.95 million. Alliance Global Group Inc (AGI) followed on its heels with a value turnover of P286 million.

Top Gaining Stock

JTH Davies Holdings (JTH) tops the gainers for the day making 21.95% price advance as of 11:10:03 from its previous day closing price. But the day's transaction is very thin, representing only 12,000 shares and a value of P20,000 pesos. Only transactions occurred.

As the market closed, Philippine Racing Club Inc. (PRC) took over the top gainers for the day with a 22.22% advance in its price. JTH remained in the second topmost place with 15.85% up in market price.

Top Losing Stock

Asia Amalgamated Holdings Corporation (AAA) took the worst hit in price today, with a loss of 49.33% from its previous-day closing price of P0.75, followed by Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation (MVC) at 15.38% as of 11:13:42. But the day's activity too is very thin representing a single SELL transaction at 0.38 pesos a share for 1,000 shares, or a value of P380.

AAA continued its misfortune as the market closed as the top losing stock of the day at its 49.33% loss level. San Miguel Pure Foods Company Inc (PF) took the second place with a price loss of 31.03%.
